How are Coastal Boats different to traditional boats?

In general, coastal rowing skiffs are built to handle rough water conditions safely. They are wider and deeper than traditional boats. The strong lip joint construction around the boat increases the overall durability and stiffness, making the boats easy to carry and crucially helps repel water when rowing through waves.
